FENSA and GGFi

FENSA LogoAt The Window and Door Company we like to do things right. Thats why we are members of FENSA, the number one self regulatory body for the glazing industry.

As a company, we have been vetted and have carried out training to pass the necessary examinations in both surveying and fitting of windows and doors. This ensures that we are knowledgeable in the current building regulations in order to self certify our work. FENSA carry out periodic spot checks on our installations to confirm they are meeting the regulations and that we are maintaining high standards of installing.

All home improvements involving windows and doors to your home must be registered with the local council building regulations department. This is to confirm that the improvements have been done to the correct standard and meet current fire and safety regulations. i.e fire escape windows and safety glass fitted where needed.

Once your installation is complete, we notify FENSA of the windows and doors installed to your property. They will then notify the relevant council of the works carried out, who in turn update their system, and a certificate of compliance will be sent to you. It is important that you keep this document in a safe place as your solicitor will require it in the event of you selling the property.
